Our first trip will take place on Saturday 13^th March and on Sunday 14^th March 2010 in the lovely, lively city of Bath situated in the ceremonial county of Somerset in the south west of England.

This World Heritage Site since 1987 has often been called the most beautiful city in England and with just one look at the rolling green hills and stunning Bath Stone Georgian-style buildings and the awe inspiring Bath Abbey it would be hard for anyone to disagree.

Bath presents some of the finest architectural sights in Europe such as the Royal Crescent, the Circus and Pulteney Bridge alongside a diverse collection of museums and attractions including the Roman Baths and Thermae Bath Spa that will take you on a trip through time.

In addition to these places that we suggest you to visit with or without us, the S.E.E.U.K Committee will organise one activity there, FREE for you because financed by fund raising! We have chosen for Bath a boat tour around the city and you are all welcomed with your friends!

Saturday 13^th March:

Departure at 8 a.m. from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Pick up at the intersection of Aldwych and Houghton Street, WC2A 2AE London.
Arrival around 10.30 a.m. at St Christopher’s Inn hostel. 9 Green Street. Bath BA1 2JY.

Sunday 14^th March:

Departure at 6 p.m. from St Christopher’s Inn hostel, 9 Green Street. Bath BA1 2JY.
Arrival around 8.30 p.m. at the intersection of Aldwych and Houghton Street, WC2A 2AE London.

From St. Christopher’s Bath youth hostel you’ll be mere minutes away from the grandeur of the Bath Abbey, the history of the Royal Crescent and more than its fair share of shops, boutiques, restaurants, pubs, and beer gardens.

We have booked almost the whole hostel with two 12 bed mixed dorms, two 6 bed mixed dorms and one 11 bed mixed dorm. Breakfast is included and there is no curfew!

To find out more information about our first trip to Bath (March 13th-14th), come to our meeting and you will be given all the practical details about accomodation, transportation, activities and price.

We will start during this meeting to sell our tickets to Bath but as we have a limited number of places make sure you get there early before those tickets run out!!

The meeting will be followed by a PUB CRAWL so you are welcomed with all your friends!!!

Oxford, The City of Dreaming Spires, is famous the world over for its University and place in history. For over 800 years, it has been a home to royalty and scholars, and since the 9^th century an established town, although people are known to have lived in the area for thousands of years.

Edinburgh

Located in the south-east of Scotland, Edinburgh has been Scotland’s capital since 1437, but has been attracting visitors and inhabitants since at least 850BC.

With a natural fortress in Castle Rock, a nearby strategic port and two 400m year old dormant volcanoes for defence, it was an ideal place to settle.

By the 1800s, Edinburgh was nicknamed ‘Athens of the North’ as the neoclassical New Town took shape alongside the medieval Old Town. Together, these were designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1995.

Today, tourists enjoy Edinburgh’s past and present landmarks. It is home of the Scottish Parliament (opened by the Queen in 1999), the world’s most famous festival city (Edinburgh International Festival was launched in 1947), the world’s first City of Literature (awarded by UNESCO in 2004) and a leading science and business destination .

Tourists have continued to vote with their feet, naming Edinburgh their Favourite UK City for the ninth year running in the Guardian/Observer Travel Awards 2008.

The City of Bath and the beautiful countryside which surrounds it has been described as one of England’s most beautiful places to visit. Objectives

Objectives of the society:

In the next few years we intend to cover at least the following destinations:
- Edinburgh
- Bath
- Oxford
- Brighton
- Manchester

Our goal is not only to enable students to enrich their cultural knowledge of the U.K, but also to encourage them to meet new people in a really friendly atmosphere.

The aim of this society is also to save busy students valuable time from planning trips independently because we will be in charge of everything for them.

We offer a package including:
-transportation
-accomodation
-one activity there,for free! (financed by fund raising)

Activities will depend on the destination but it may be a concert, a festival, an exhibition, a boat race, a paintball, a fancy dress party etc. => all you have ever dreamed of while studying in the UK but never had time for !

We can promise you very cheap prices, an easy way to travel and lots of fun!!
